Equine Department
Based at our purpose-built clinic near Axminster we aim to provide the veterinary service you and your equine deserve; from the most miniature Shetland to the biggest shire with everything equine in between including donkeys.
Good value with a focus on your individual needs, we’ll advise you on all the options available, but the decision is always yours.
Most of our examinations will be at your home or yard and each vet carries a wide range of equipment and medications to deal with routine and emergency situations.
The in-clinic facilities allow for more detailed investigations, advanced treatments or simply control of a more difficult patient in the stocks.
This allows:
- Full general anaesthesia in our padded induction box for surgical procedures
- Standing surgery under deep sedation and local anaesthesia for some procedures
- Investigation of lameness including nerve blocks
- Digital X-Rays
- Ultrasound imaging
- Advanced dentistry techniques including tooth extraction, occlusal surface restoration and bridging techniques to treat periodontal disease.
- Laser therapy for soft tissue injuries and wounds.
- Surgical laser for removing lesions
- Reproductive services with stocks on site to assist with examinations and our own cryogenic storage container to store semen
- Routine appointments to be performed on site such as vaccinations and dentals
- Free weight check ups
